Charters

Sun Jan 07, 2007 4:24 am

I am curious as to how much it would cost to charter an aircraft for a flight. No I am not planning on doing it but I am interested in what costs are involved.

If anybody could help me out I'd be interested in the costs for chartering... (If It's possible)

  • An executive Biz-Jet for travel within the UK
  • A Narrowbody aircraft for travel within Europe
  • A widebody longhaul aircraft for travel to Canada and the USA from the UK

Many thanks in advance!  Smile

One example from a website of an executive charter company around where I live. Los Angeles to Frankfurt, cost is about 100K round-trip on a Challenger, or 200K R/T for a Gulfstream 4/5. I guess for people that make millions annually, that's nothing. If they set aside 1 million every year for travel, they can fly Int. 10 times a year on a private jet. Domestic is even cheaper, LAX to Miami is 32K for midsize and 100 for Gulfstreams.

A simple search in Google can bring you many charter brokers that can arrange charter flight from a King Air to a 747 flight. Air Transat / Skyservice / Air Canada Jetz all are apable of charters from a Lear 35 to a A330 here in Canada.

Figure $2-2.5K/hr on a nice Lear to $4.5-6K/hr on a Challenger or Gulfstream. There are overnight charges (usually around $500/day for crew/flight attendant hotels). Lear 35's and 55's can usually be $1.5-1.8K/hr. It's based typically on block time. Put 5 people on a 35 or 55 and it's really not bad considering you drive up to the plane and get on.

I seriously think I just creamed my pants without any influence from any outside variables.
