BA 465 MAD - LHR Sunday 21/01/07

Thu Feb 01, 2007 11:05 pm

Hi All,

I noticed the BA465 from Madrid to LHR almost got canned on Sunday, the aircraft was a 757 (G-CPES I think) that seemed to have an issue when starting the r/h engine.

The engineering team arrived with a ladder and changed something that was situated inside the engine pylon (the side of the pylon which faces the aircraft body), a few mins later the engine was restarted and the aircraft departed.

Does anyone know the problem was? or what equipment may have been replaced within the pylons? Just to feed my interest !! (And to learn more)

Thanks,

Adam

No I read Sunday and thought you meant last Sunday, not 10 days ago. In future try and ask these questions as soon as possible as the info disappears into the archives.
Anyway on 21/1 PES had an indication of low Hyd pressure from the R engine hyd pump. The pump had been changed earlier that day, so the engineers at MAD cleaned the px sw plugs, and there has been no further reports.

Thanks !!! I appreciate the comment about asking earlier, I only joined airliners.net today as I had posted a similar message on other forums and not got anywhere ! Now I know where to ask.

I guess where u found this info is not in the public domain right?

Thanks again.
