Runway Heading Info Please?

Mon Mar 12, 2007 8:43 pm

Hi all,

I have searched through this and other forums and to no avail. I am trying to find out runway directions for a few airports in the Pacific and wanted to know if anyone has such a list of info for airports around the world as well as the Pacific. Something online would be great! I think I might be clutching at straws here though.

eg: Savusavu SVU runway heading's are 23/05. etc (I know this info is incorrect) Additional info such as length and type -ie: grass or paved would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Couple links I found:

http://www.world-airport-codes.com/

http://worldaerodata.com/

Savusavu shows up in the first one, but not the second.

I don't know how accurate the info is, though. If you need to look up US airports at all, Airnav.com is a great source.
I'm watching Jeopardy. The category is worst Madonna songs. "This one from 1987 is terrible".

http://www.worldaerodata.com is great, but you might have to browse thru the country list to find your airport-- the names they're listed under aren't always what you expect.

A decent source of information is the great circle mapper. The URL you'll need is "http://gc.kls2.com/airport/SVU", where you can replace SVU with whatever IATA code you like (SVU is actually not in this database, but many airports are. British airports are a notable (major) exception.
