RR RB211-524H8-T On The 744ER?

Fri Mar 23, 2007 9:43 pm

Did Roll Royce intend to have an engine on the -400ER and 400ERF model of the 747. A look on Boeing's website shows a range payload chart for the 747 with an RB211-524H8-T...

Also a google search for that engine reveals a few references to the 400ER series.

So did RR plan to launch an engine for the -400ER and if so what were the characteristics and why did it not make it (assumingly lack of market).
