Etihad A332

Does anyone know if the top and bottom of the wings and stabilizers on their aircraft are painted the same colors as the fuselage?

No, they are not. They are the usual grey colour.

Hi Everyone...Sorry for the slow response, but if you folks would look at something, this explains why I am coming up with this conclusion. Please go into the database and check out all the photos of aircraft A6-EYI. The photo that really brings up the issue is the photo that shows the leading edge wing area...It definitely shows that the area over the metal leading edge is the same color as the engines and fuselage. Is it possible that only this a/c is specially painted? Still looking for help on this! Thank you...

It looks to me as though there is actually a kind of border stripe which runs along the top of the leading edge (but not the lower part, which is still grey) and around past the winglet then back down the trailing edge, including at least the upper part of the flaps. One of the photos in the database of the A6 EYI taken from the rear at MAN shows this quite well (Sorry, not sure how to sensibly link to the photo).

Hope this helps - if not, I could confirm in June when I fly EY SYD-AUH-MAN!!

That could be painted or looks only like that because of the reflections from the fuse. That being said, if they had painted the wing, it might have been more likely that they also painted the corroguard (the grey part that spreads through the middle of the wing, not the dark grey stripe on the flaps) as well, like LH and S7 (although only on their Boeings and TU-154s in the new green colourscheme) did.

There is no doubt that there are gray versions in the Etihad fleet, but after going through the entire database, there just seems to be few that feature this pearl color. I am still stumped!
