Takeoff Performance Of The ERJ-170

Tue Apr 24, 2007 3:05 am

I've heard nothing but good things about the Embraer E-Jets series, but I was wondering how the takeoff performance was on the E170 and E190. I see both pretty often coming out of BNA but I was just wondering if anyone has any info on this thanks?

I can't give you numbers, but the takeoff I experienced in the E170 was very powerful.

It can take off with full payload from EYW.

From what I have seen of the 170/190 @ MAN with Finnair they seem to have no problems with regards to takeoff performance, if you can judge from the climb rate they seem to be a contender to the 757!

It's a little pocket rocket. Coming back from HOU one day (with 110 knot tailwinds), the thing was doing well over 700 knots groundspeed. Impressive numbers for a small little thing like that. The takeoff will pin you in your seat too.

If you were > 700 kt gs, you had a hell of alot more than 110kt on the tail.  Smile
