I was wondering how some one would find aircraft for ACMI wetlease or charter?
It would need to be a A 320/1 or B 737NG in all economy and in north america
it would be in the winter like around Chrismas vaction fro about 5 weeks
Most charters come from a charter broker such as Air Consult or Chapman Freeborn. The brokers will contact various airlines to see if they have aircraft available in the size that you need, and the times that you want them. Then the broker will try to negotiate a price. Some airlines are very firm on their prices, $6,000 per block hour, customer pays for the positioning flight, fuel, cabin cleaning at the end, catering, cost to position crew etc. Needless to say this gets mighty expensive and very quickly. Mytravel sends out SITA messages constantly telling people of what they have available, and they also request service as well. Here's one of their requests.
SUBJ: AIRCRAFT AVAILABILITY
FROM: Ops 8
TRAVEL AIRWAYS REQUEST A/C AVAILABILITY TO
THE FOLLOWING FLIGHTS:
PLEASE ADVISE AIRCRAFT TYPE, CONFIG, BASE AND
PLEASE ADVZ EVEN IF
If anyone who receives this message has any availability they will call Mytravel and let them know, and the process begins from there. Hope this helped you out a bit w/your question.
