So, with all these airlines closing down and my ambition to become a pilot after doing a university degree, I thought I may as well start my main question here on Airliners.net. As in the topic, if I were to become a pilot, would it be really hard to make it through the ranks with all those low profile airlines into a mainline carrier within a sufficient time and yet still have time to fly some big jets?
When it comes to moving from a regional airline to a world class airline what criteria do they look at?
Education - Degrees? Where you did it from?
Military - Any qualifications?
I would have thought the two above are the most obvious ones, however if I don't go via the military section what are exactly the disadvantages. Also, what about a regional to cargo or mainline to cargo, would it follow approximately the same procedures.
After all this I hoped someone understood what is my main question
