9V-SKC: What's Up With The "O"?

What's going on inside the "O" of "SINGAPORE": a hasty skin patch on the upper deck entrance door?  eyebrow  Wonder if this caused a flight delay...

Are the titles painted on, or just decals? If they are the latter, it could just be a piece of it peeled off.

They should be painted on a brandnew aircraft, shouldn't they?

What exactly happened is always hard to guess. Looks like it is underneath the door. I don't know where the emergency slides deploy at the A380. But maybe from that area there. ANd they needed a new cover for that or had to change something there and wasn't enough time to put on some paint...
Just a guess.

Looks like the escape slide access door has been replaced recently & awaiting a paint job  Smile

I second that. The ends of the patch is at the position where the slides are stored.

That's the slide cover alright...

Didn't SQ or Airbus mention slight teething glitches with those slides, and that they initially would be inspected and overhauled more frequently than previously planned?
