Airbus A319 CJ - How Much More Fuel Capacity?

Sun May 10, 2009 8:45 pm

I understand that the ACJ - the corporate Jet version of the A319 - has higher fuel capacity than the "normal" A319.

That ACJ version also flies scheduled commercial services, some of them quite long, such as Frankfurt-Pune (more than 4,100 miles).

Can anyone tell me the details of the ACJ used for scheduled commercial operations (Lufthansa/Privatair, Qatar, Air France?): max ZFW, max TOW, fuel tank capacities? Thanks

This Airbus document covering the A319CJ shows maximum fuel as 71,930 lb., but with max. fuel there is little room for any payload, only 1,710 lbs, about 8 passengers and baggage.

Airbus shows the standard A319 usable fuel as 41,290 lb. Other weight and payload/range data are in this document.

The A319 that Qatar uses on scheduled flights is not a CJ it is an A319LR.
Qatar has two CJA and CJB. They are equipped to have 6 ACTs but are only fitted with one. Even with only one, the baggage for 110 pax can nearly fill the hold. You can't fly long distance, and carry baggage.
DOH-ARN is about 2500nm and they need the ACT for the Northbound sector most of the time.

Thanks for the answers! I wasn't aware there was a difference between an A319LR and the ACJ! I assumed they were one and the same, with different names: "A319LR" used by commercial airlines for scheduled flights, ACJ more like a private jet.

So, does anyone know what plane and what kind of configuration Lufthansa/Privaitair uses for that very long Frankfurt-Pune flight, which is 3,600 nm?
