Finnair uses the front door as a pax loading door on their ATRs, normally reserved for the cargo section. In lieu of the cargo section, does this configuration move the cargo section to another part of the aircraft, such that the volume of cargo space remain the same?

It's possible they only use the other cargo hold in the back behind the galley section but someone else familiar with this config. would have a better answer.

I checked Wikipedia and Finnair ordered variant with front passenger door to allow use of jet bridge at front of aircraft. Although I have been on an ATR's where they used the jet bridge at the rear. I suspect you get to walk through a mountain of bags.
The ATR's have been from my experience one of few aircraft where moving passengers for CG issues is pretty common and carry a stinger to keep aircraft from tipping on its tail while loading at the rear. They have some cargo space at the rear but I am not sure how much weight that can be placed at the back with that much moment.

not 100pct sure, but if memory serves well, the std ATR takes cgo/bags behind the cockpit.

There are 2 net sections, so a small gangway is created.for acces between cockpit and cabin, but not for pax use. This is for the version with paxdoor in the rear. The -72 also uses a tailstand to avoid tipping during boarding/deboarding.

If not mistaken the ATR72 has a net on the RH side to hold the cargo towards the right, providing a space on the Left to walk through.

Finnair don't fly ATR's anymore, also the 'front-door-ATR's are sold out. The OH-KRA in the picture above first went to Aero Airlines, then to Aer Arann.

Their partner FinnComm operate ATR-42/72 aircraft now in Finland, with more traditional doors.

That is the question the OP is asking. The standard ATR72 has a large cargo hold just aft of the cockpit... but with the forward pax door version where does the cargo go..? The area taken up by cargo is now pax seating......

Good morning, folks having worked with this a/c several times I can tell you that the above picture, showing the starboard side, both doors are access to the holds believe it or not.
