JT3D Engine Question

Thu Sep 03, 2009 11:29 am

Hi,

can anyonegive me some details on the JT3D engine used in the B707? I'm looking for the exact 1st fan stage diameter and technical drawings of that engine.

Thanks a milion!

eBay has a JT3D manual for sale:

I suspect that would have a lot of what you're looking for.

He wants $250.00 minimum for that, while being a nice historic document, that price could really hinder someone.

Wish I could remember all that stuff, but it has been 20+ years since I overhauled and worked on one of those.

There's some good information here, but no drawings:

http://www.jet-engine.net/

JT3D fan diameter is given as 53.1 inches.
The glass isn't half empty, or half full, it's twice as big as it needs to be.
