Airbus A330-200 Center Fuel Tank

Tue Oct 27, 2009 1:46 pm

The center tank on the A330-200 can carry 41,559 liters, which most airlines using it today do not really fill the tank to the fullest.

Is there a way to remove it, similar to the A319CJ?

Anyone knows how much that weights on its own?

The center tank in the A330-200 cannot be removed. The tank is nothing more than the center wing box sealed to hold fuel.

You could take out the plumbing, pumps, sealant, and FQIS if you wanted to. However, as 474218 noted, the tank itself is just the wing box, and you definitely need that.
