Pilot School, Lufthansa

Sat Mar 13, 2010 12:17 pm

Hello everyone,

I have a friend who is very interested in becoming an airline pilot for Lufthansa. I was just curious if Lufthansa has a learn to fly program, or their own pilot school in central Europe. Any information would be very much appreciated.

thanks a lot forum!

They have a school in Phoenix (Chandler?), Arizona, USA, including their own private airstrip south of Phoenix (Mobile.) Since it's for Germans only, that's all I know.

Most of the European airlines run their own Ab Initio programs. They are very, very selective and normally you need to be a national of the airline in question and fluent in their language. There are also age limitations.

LH's website probably has info or try to Google Lufthansa Flight Training or some such thing.

I've been wondering what happened to Wilco737. He used to be a very frequent poster, especially on any issues involving the MD-11, but his last A.net posting was over 5 months ago.

Wouldn't be surprised if the armchair-pilot trolls that tried to teach him how to fly his plane annoyed him to oblivion.

Yeah, that LH MD-11 landing incident was the last drop I guess, too many jokes etc.
