I hadn't noticed that that STAR existed-- they must have given it to UA 907
Hey Timz, I just read your earlier post, and my guess is that the UA
aircraft was on the Yosem STAR. In all my experiences on the jumpseat, I've only witnessed it once. However, the captain the other day mentioned that he had also recently been assigned the Yosem STAR for the first time. On that particular day, however, we flew the normal Modesto STAR. To SFO
, the smaller aircraft generally precedes the smaller aircraft. Often times, NorCal will instruct a larger aircraft to "not pass that (smaller) aircraft." Generally, FMS-equipped aircraft will be cleared direct ARCHI (after CEDES) to intercept the FMS Bridge final approach course on the FMS Bridge Visual 28R.
