The Outer Diameter Of The C-17

Sat Apr 24, 2010 7:08 pm

I was reading somewhere, that a C-17 has the same outer diameter as an A380. Was this a misprint, or is a C-17 just super wide?

A380 fuselage width (23.43 ft.) is about 1 foot wider than the C-17 (22.5 ft.) according to Airbus and Boeing data on their websites. Maximum loadable width for the C-17 is 18 ft. I assume that refers to the widest item that will fit through the rear cargo doors.
