Is self handling a right for every airline at each airport in the world?

No, not even in the US.
Airports can have restrictions including appointment of consortium or small number of vendors that handle everyone.
I believe in the case of the EU there have been court cases surrounding the lack of competition in places like Spain and Greece.

Normally restricted to Two or Three Airlines/Ground handling agencies that won the Bid.
I may not win often, but I damn well never lose!!! ;)
