Notam Abreviation

Thu Jun 09, 2011 11:04 am

Just regarding this notam, can someone explain what the RAG in part E) means?

051405 EUECYIYN
(A1313/11 NOTAMR A1273/11
Q)ENOR/QMHAS/IV/NBO/A/000/999/5923N01047E005
A)ENRY B)1105051404 C)1107011200 EST
E) RAG RWY12 U/S DUE MAINT)

In relation to this I have been told it has something to do with an actual fire truck, is it normal for an airport to refer to an individual fire truck like this in a notam?

071609 EUECYIYN
(A0445/11 NOTAMR A0252/11
Q)GMMM/QFFLT/IV/NBO/A/000/999/3137N00803W005
A)GMMX B)1106071558 C)1108082359
E)FIRE AND RESCUE VEHICLE VMA 124 U/S)

Many thanks in advance

That notam would normally be associated with other notams that would advise the new airport ARFF category or what is still available, if some equipment is U/S, the airport may become unsuitable as a destination or alternate with the vehicle being U/S.

Very handy link for these types of things:
http://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publi...otices/2011-06-02/Contractions.cfm

The FAA publishes a NOTAM document every 28 days (hence the data in the link above)...the front matter always contains the current abbreviation definitions.
