US Airline Pilot Bases For Each Aircraft Type

Tue Jun 14, 2011 10:26 pm

Hey all,

As I was reading over DL's newest bid packet for the cockpit crews, I was thinking it seems like DL has a high number of different pilot bases. Including current bases and near-term changes, they have:

DC9: MSP, MEM, DTW
MD88/MD90: MSP, ATL, NYC
A320: SLC, MSP, DTW, MEM, ATL (to open soon)
737: LAX, SLC, CVG, ATL, NYC
757/767: SEA, LAX, SLC, MSP, DTW, ATL, NYC
764: ATL, NYC
A330: SEA, DTW, MSP (to close soon), ATL (to open soon)
777: DTW, ATL
744: DTW

Just for my own curiosity sake, would anyone be able to post the various aircraft/base lists for other US carriers??

One smooth landing is skill. Two in a row is luck. Three in a row and someone is lying.

Quoting AAR90 (Reply 5):
777 - DFW, LGA, LAX, MIA, ORD, SFO

SFO 777?? Is that a base that's now closed (SJC?), or what?? I'd imagine they wouldn't fly too much otherwise

757/767 - BOS, DFW, LAX, LGA, MIA, ORD, SFO, STL

STL 757/767 is still open?? Wow, I thought they were down to like 1-2 daily flights out of STL and that's it.

That's called a "typo" (error). I copied the info from a graph (very small print) on the last page of our monthly bid package. Sorry about the boo-boo.

A contractual requirement (created by APA) that remains from the TWA "purchase." Virtually all STL trips are DFW/ORD trips with a deadhead to/from STL. Expensive, but contractually required.

United flight deck bases.

Airbus - DCA, DEN, JFK, LAX, ORD, SFO, DTK
757/767 - DCA, DEN, JFK, LAX, ORD, SEA, SFO, DTK
777 - DCA, LAX, ORD, SEA, SFO, DTK
744 - LAX, ORD, SFO, DTK

Many of these bases have co-terminals - in otherwords a JFK pairing for example can be from EWR and LGA also.
DTK is the Denver training center, but in essence the only aircraft that truly have a Denver base is the Airbus and 757/767.

Post integration ???

To add for CO, IAH will be the first 787 base.
