ERJ170 Cabin Pressure

Thu Nov 03, 2011 12:36 am

My ears are very sensitive to cabin pressure changes. I've had horrible experiences on the CRJ, so I generally avoid regional jets. Is the ERJ170 any better? I see it flies on the short 169 mile route ORD-IND, so I wonder whether with a presumably lower than normal cruising altitude (due to the short distance), the cabin pressure might be OK. The alternative of course is to drive that segment, which I've done before.

I think it's worse, but only in the descent with lower power settings and multiple changes.
