Airport Operating Budgets

Mon Nov 21, 2011 1:26 am

This past week (11/16/11) the GEG airport board approved it's 2012 operating budget of $60,535,139 which is down 2% from last year. To a non-aviation business person like me that is a lot of money. My question is what are operating budgets like at the super airports like LAX, SFO, JFK, LHR, NRT, AMS etc? If some of you think that GEG has a high budget you may or may not know that includes Felts Field which is GA. GEG has it's own fire, police, field maintenance and terminal maintenance. These are all union represented. GEG also operates it's own parking and fuel farm. Nothing is contracted out (or outsourced as the PC like to say.) Thanks for the info.

LAX 2010/2011 operating budget was $725.2 million.

That does not include debt servicing or the capital improvement projects which was another $576.6mil for the year.
