Part 135 IFR And VFR Visibility Minimums

Thu Jun 07, 2012 12:40 am

Can anyone tell me the answers to these questions for standard part 135 operations(i.e. no special exceptions being made). I'm wondering what the visibility minimums are for the following scenarios...

VFR take off:
What is the 135 minimum vertical visibility single engine? multi engine?
what is the 135 minimum horizontal visibility single engine? multi engine?

VFR landing:
What is the 135 minimum vertical visibility single engine? multi engine?
what is the 135 minimum horizontal visibility single engine? multi engine?

IFR take off:
What is the 135 minimum vertical visibility single engine? multi engine?
what is the 135 minimum horizontal visibility single engine? multi engine?

IFR landing:
What is the 135 minimum vertical visibility single engine? multi engine?
what is the 135 minimum horizontal visibility single engine? multi engine?

Thanks

Thanks for the link Flight152, but by going to that page and looking at the link you will find that it says that the operator must comply with the minimums in their operating manual.

So my question is, what are the standard minimums that would be found in a part 135 operating manual that is not getting any special exceptions.

You can see the results of clicking on the link you provided here.

I will add that the three part 135 pilots to whom I have posed this question did not know the answer to
each of the questions.

It's not that I'm not willing to look it up, it's just that I'm not exactly sure where to look.

VFR, no minimums (except that you need 2 miles visibility in Class G where you might otherwise need 1).

IFR take off:
What is the 135 minimum vertical visibility single engine? multi engine?
what is the 135 minimum horizontal visibility single engine? multi engine?

No ceiling requirement, 1 mile horizontal visibility. Pretty much everyone has an exemption for this one (OpsSpec C057 and C079).

IFR landing:
What is the 135 minimum vertical visibility single engine? multi engine?
what is the 135 minimum horizontal visibility single engine? multi engine?

Whatever's on the approach plate.
