Looking For A Job In Aviation

Thu Jul 05, 2012 3:11 pm

Hello everyone,

I know there are many people on airliners.net with connections in the aviation industry. I'm currently looking for a job in the aviation industry. I've got a bachelor's degree in Facilities Management and just obtained my master's degree in Communication Science (with a specialisation in Corporate Communication). I would love a job as a manager in Facilities Management or Corporate Communication at an airline, airport opperator or aircraft manufacturer. Is there anyone who can help me out? I've been sending job applications for the last four months now, but so far without any result. I live in the Netherlands. A job in the Netherlands or the United Kingdom is really what I fancy. I've got work experience in retail and facilities management. I've got over five years of leadership experience and have currently 100 people working for me.

Please contact me if you can help me out or have got a job opening for me. I hope someone can help me out.

Kind regards,

Robert van der Vossen

I'd say you have some decent experience (per your website). I would recommend you try going direct to airport operators (most likely to have a larger range of job types to suit you) and checking their websites. BAA usually have many roles advertised on their site at any one time.

With airlines the vacancies are going to be scarce. With a manufacturer, the same, and you'd probably need to show a track record of wanting to work specifically in that sector.

(This thread might get moved to the non-civil aviation forum in case you need to know).

Hope that helps.

How about Airbus...I live in Houston but plan to relocate back to my wife's hometown of Hamburg within the next 5 yrs where I too will be looking either trying to get on with them or just transfer hopefully with my current employer. Airbus does final assembly of A320 / A330 / A380's, but they have a number of vacancies that might fit your line of work. My understanding is that the corporate language is English, but if you know German that will likely also be preferable.
