Aircraft Maintenance Photos

Mon Nov 12, 2012 5:53 am

Could anyone on Airliners.net help me find photos of aircraft maintenance, either in progress or completed? Particularly skin maintenance such as repair doubler(s). As an engineer photos such as this Southwest Airlines 737 fascinate me. I would love to know its inspection program.

A great place to start, especially for 737 maintenance photos would be the following by Michael C Huckstep;

http://www.airliners.net/search/phot...rt_order=photo_id+desc&thumbnails=

Click on photos that interest you and see if they have been added to any A'net members’ photo albums. Clicking on those albums should then give you more maintenance photos to look at.

Pity mike stopped posting those pics after 2005.....

May be Anet should have had a seperate section dedicated to Maintenance pictures.

As a mechanic, photos such as that terrify me.

G’day Mel,

Interestingly, I searched for the photos in question under an alias that was not a person's name. It appears that sometime ago, A'net required all photographs to appear under the real name of the photographer. Obviously, this makes it more risky for an airline employee to take pictures.

Thank you! Photos like those are exactly what I've been looking for.

Me too. I may understand the regulations and sciences behind structural analysis/repair but every time I board a plane I'm scanning the skin and any visible structure for signs of damage.

Does anyone happen to have photos or know where I can find photos of skin repairs on say CRJs or ERJs?

True.....Thats exactly why Maintenance personnell restrict posting pics of work on a public forum.....Its sad, as the data could be so usefull to those interested.....

I'm thinking it would be tough to do as many facilities, the one I work at included, prohibit photography in the hangar

Agreed.The number may be less,but atleast there would have been a category comprising of these pics by folks who are permitted to click at the maintenance workplace.
