EasyJet A319 CAA Regulations

Sat Dec 08, 2012 9:43 am

Hi everyone,

I'm doing a report on the innovation within easyJet and one of the things I think didn't work out for them was the addition of the emergency exit which increased capacity to 156 (needing an additional crew member) but I can't find any formative source of information on the CAA website about narrowbodies needing 1 crew member per 50 Passengers. Anyone know where I can find this?

Chris

It can be found in EU-OPS http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/...ri=OJ:L:2008:254:0001:0238:EN:PDF, specifically in OPS 1.990 which says:

'an operator shall ensure that the minimum number of cabin crew is......one cabin crew member for every 50, or fraction of 50, passenger seats installed on the same deck of the aeroplane'

There is a bit more to it than that, but that is the basic answer.

Mark
