CDG - Terminal 1 - Which Satellite?

Wed Jan 02, 2013 2:22 pm

Hi,

I am fascinated by Terminal 1 at CDG with its unusual design where planes park at the various satellites. However, I was wondering which airlines use which satellite or whether it is purely based on a divide between Schengen and Non-Schengen departures? Also, how many satellites are used for Intra-Schengen and Extra-Schengen flights?

Thanks!
Next Flights: LHR-OSL (738), OSL-CPH (320), CPH-LHR (321), LHR-HEL (359), HEL-LHR (359)

I'm fascinated by Terminal 1 as well. Hopefully someone can shed more light on your questions.

This 2009 publication by the Paris airports operator describes the major renovations at CDG T1 which had just been completed. It says that 3 of the 7 satellites are Schengen and the other 4 non-Schengen. Not sure if anything has changed since. It doesn't indicate which are which.

According to this Map: http://www.gofox.com/common/images/flights/airportmaps/cdg.gif

Only Satellite 6 is not covered by the red dotted line which makes me assume that it is for flights within the schengen area with the others within the passport control zone.. or am I wrong?

I imagine satellites 4, 5 and 6 would be the schengen with the other non-schengen if the pdf above is right. Confusing!

Satellite 7 is Schengen too, though the SAS lounge is brutally inferior to the LH one in 6
