B6 never said they wanted to have the highest paid....anything. They have always said they wanted to be somewhere in the middle. I get paid well for what I do at the company. Are there people in the same position at other airlines that make more? Sure. Are there ones at other airlines that make less? Sure. Am I complaining? No. Would a union help me? Don't know, don't care, I'm not really a fan of being in a union anyway. Long story short, B6
never had its sights on having the highest paid crews out there anyway.

The health insurance program at B6 is also poor (worse than many regionals).
There were big changes this year, not for the better, I will admit. Are the benefits horrible? Nope, I know folks that have A LOT worse. I know people in many companies (airlines and other industries) that had a bad hit this year with their medical plans. I feel I'm covered quite well based on my average medical needs, at a cost that is average to maybe a little below average.
At least my 401K is building up again nicely now that the stock market is bouncing back. I do like what B6
does with it's 401K program.
You are a comparing an airline that has been around for many decades to one that has been around for 13 years, one that has hundreds of aircraft to one that has only ~180, one that has a lot of dots on the "lower 48" with none outside of it (until now that they merged with FL
), to one that has significant operations into the Caribbean, and many other differences. Not sure if it's a good comparison, honestly, then again I'm not sure what would be better to compare. Maybe VX
? Their "hub" airports are major international airports like B6
, closer in age? I dunno.
