Heathrow Company Radio Frequencies?

Mon Jul 01, 2013 6:42 pm

I apologize if this is the incorrect place to post this question.

Does anyone have a database of company radio frequencies for LHR? I have the ATC frequencies, and a few BA frequencies, but I am looking for the radio frequencies for AA, FX, QF, AF, KL and well most of the airlines and ground handlers.

Thanks

Why?

Yes I know we are all enthusiasts, but that is some pretty specific information to be asking for which isn't necessarily suitable for the public domain.

Why isn't this information suitable for the public domain? It is listed for many airports, what makes Heathrow different?

If you have the frequencies and don't want to share them, that is your right. If you don't have the frequencies and just feel like picking a fight for no reason what so ever, that is a whole different issue.

I can give you any answer I think you want to hear, but really, what is your vetting process to find out of the answer I give you is accurate?

Because listening to said frequencies is a criminal offence in the UK. Yes a blind eye is turned to people listening to scanners picking up ATC frequencies, I do that myself, but what you are requesting is very specific information which (whether you like it or not) raises suspicion as to why you want it.

I am not 'picking a fight', I am asking the very relevant question of why you want these frequencies. They are not for public consumption.

Dan

I cover the industry as a journalist and have extensively focused on aviation security for more than a decade. I am doing a story on AA at LHR shortly, with access provided by AA and the BAA. When I enquired about the company frequencies I was informed they didn't have them, they just knew the channels, ie, Ch 1 Ch 2 Ch 3, and what the corresponded with.

I am looking for a few others such as FX and KL for something else I am writing on group operations, where the only way to really gather further info is to observe and listen.

Seriously? Who makes the determination of the suitability? You?

Suspicion in whom's mind?

Oh please,.... If that were the case, they would be encrypted.

Arrest yourself immediately.

Whom will you report your relevant findings to?

I, too, am not picking a fight, just wonder where the authoritarian attitude and theme are coming from. True actors of nefarious intent must shake in their boots knowing you are on the case.

What has happened to spotting in the UK? I remember as a kid seeing the crowded observation deck at LHR where people had lunches, cameras, and scanners, and the UK was one of the biggest countries for the spotting hobby. Now they have taken out the observation deck, made listening to ATC radios a criminal offense, and have taken all the fun out of it. They can play the security card all they want, but in my opinion, nothing that a spotter does is no threat at all to airport security.

And still can in a few places. I greatly enjoyed AMS in April.
