Crew Toilet On Monarch A300?

Sat Jul 20, 2013 3:59 pm

Hello,

A few weeks back I was flying on a Monarch A300-600 from LGW to LCA. I was sitting at seat 5G, and I went to the toilet about half way through the flight, and headed towards the front toilets, with those being closest. The one on the right hand side of the aircraft was occupied. The cabin crew were having a break, so I said excuse me to them and squeezed passed to head towards the left hand toilet, situated just before the flight deck. One of them then said 'You're not meant to use that toilet, but we'll make a quick exception this time.' This was the first I had heard of this (not mentioned in safety brief etc.) They offered no explanation as to why, but to be fair I didn't ask. My only guess what this is a toilet reserved for crew (with it being just outside the flight deck). Or is there another reason?

Thanks for your replies,

Either they were pulling your leg or just giving you a hard time.

My guess is a little of both !

Haha!

Worst joke ever played on me on a plane was by a TCX cabin crew member who, when I was looking out of a door window in flight, sneaked up behind me, went "boo!" and shook my shoulders. She found it hilarious, whilst I got the shock of my life. Maybe they just have it in for me!

It's not a 'crew' toilet. I think they try to have people use the toilets at the rear of the a/c as to avoid congestion around the fwd galley/cockpit door area.

Could be an SOP of avoiding a crowd near the flight deck as the aft toilets are available........
I may not win often, but I damn well never lose!!! ;)
