Question About AN/APG-66(V2)

Fri Sep 13, 2013 10:54 pm

In the following sentence:

The Westinghouse AN/APG-66(V2) Fire Control Radar (FCR) will be equipped with a completely new signal data processor. It allows a track-while-scan mode for up to ten targets as well as a six-on-six AIM-120 AMRAAM capability.

What does "as well as a six-on-six AIM-120 AMRAAM capability" mean? It can fire 6 AMRAAMs simultaneously each tracking their own targets?

This is a question probably better asked in the Mil/Av forum.

At any rate,

Quoting Googles (Thread starter):
It can fire 6 AMRAAMs simultaneously each tracking their own targets?

is exactly right. This page is a bit clearer on the radar's capabilities. 10 target track-while-scan, 6 AMRAAMs fired at 6 separate targets simultaneously and a Two Target Situational Awareness mode.
