Navigation W/ Flight Sim

Thu Aug 03, 2000 11:06 pm

I've been flying Flight Sim (98/2000) for a while now, but I haven't figured out how to do navigation the "real" way. I've found some flight plans but couldn't quite decipher them. Can anyone recommend a site where they have the flight plans and/or how to read them? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry,
I have FS98 but i also have some real nav charts. I know how to do VFR Flight using VOR's. I have done limited IFR work but only at one airport. I dont know any sights that have charts, you may be able to buy some charts from the FAA? or your local Airprt. Just ask for Old charts. Charts are updated about every 2 months so they always throw away the old ones. For FS purposes the old ones are just fine. Just ask them fo some.

If you are looking for charts to download these are two sites that I go to: http://www.dalnet.se/sasfss/ and http://www.clearanceunlimited.com/main.htm I think there are some flight plans in the first one.

Those VFR charts are available new for $7.50, but i believe new ones are coming out in DECEMBER (they are updated every six months), so they might have some old ones that became obsolete on June 15.

You can order "Simcharts" from Jeppesen at www.jeppesenpcpilot.com. These include airport approach plates and IFR sectionals. Good Luck!
