Aviation Videos

Wed Dec 20, 2000 6:49 pm

Hi aviation fans..........I have a huge collection of aviation/aircraft/airliner videos. Was wondering if anybody else out there collects these as I do? What are your favorites? I love all of "Just Planes" products. I like all the manufacturers actually! Any tape showing planes is great! Avion has a great Anchorage release. Great sound! The louder the better! Anybody else have this one?

Good to chat with all of you.

I'm also into it, but they are too expensive (around 50 DM in germany), mostly i get them from Ebay. Maybe you know how i can get cheaper ones. But for me the best are HARRY'S, the quality is better. Hong kong kai tak is great. they also have more starting and landing planes. JUST PLANES VIDEO's have interesting airports, i have jeddah, bejing and hoh chi minh city (very interesting!!!).

I think the "Kai Tak Final Day" in my collection is the best for me as a Hong Kong based spotter.
We do miss Kai Tak Airport very much.
However, the new Chek Lap Kok is Fxxking.

Yes indeed!!! "Kai Tak Final Day" by Just Planes is one of my faves also! Interesting to see all the spotters on that fateful July day in 1998.
What a shame! No more rwy. 13 approaches.
Wouldn't it be great if they re-opened Kai Tak??!!
Is the empty airport still there??

"The final Days" by HARRYS have a wrong end. they indentify the last regular landing on k.t., an DRAGONAIR A320 as an A330...poor...

Hey there KLM672............You asked about Harry's JFK tape. I have that one. Good action there. Nice editing.
Soon you'll be able to choose among 4 new JFK volumes! JPV numbers 47 & 48 will both be on JFK, and we'll get to see 504 (!) planes using Kennedy Airport in 1999/2000!! I can't wait for those.
Even sooner you should be able to get 2 JFK tapes from IAPV. I'm waiting for mine to arrive.
For some reason (no doubt which is obvious to all you who take pictures @ JFK) my JFK videos don't show very many takeoffs. Hard to find good locations for t-offs I guess. Anybody know if this is true?

KLM672........Let me know which JFK tapes you have.
See ya.

I have a 777 systems review video. It's not an airport video, but if anyone is interested in trading for an in-depth, technical video, let me know! I also have one that details how to operate FMC/EFIS.

Does anybody have any idea why NO video outfit will use the FULL OVERHEAD shot of a plane coming in to land? Why is this so difficult? Just curious. I would love to see, and hear, more complete over-the-head footage of aircraft at different airports. Whenever they do film an overhead, it's always chopped up into two different shots, which of course ruins the effect of the jet blast!
Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Boeing747-400, I have the CAC B707 video (amongst others)
It's ok, the crew is slightly emotional because it's that aircraft's final scheduled US flight.
I was also kinda shocked when the F/E pounded on the engine cowlings!

Hey there Boeing 747-400.............Yeah, the 757 one is indeed nice. I like anything w/the 757!
There are some WAR (World Air Routes) tapes coming up with 14 (!) flights per tape! Lots of landing action there.
What other videos do you have?

Bye.

Hi again Boeing747-400...........Yes, I have some World Air Routes volumes (all 35 to date, in fact). I've enjoyed all the ones I've looked at thus far. Just got the KLMexel tape this week. It has 14 flights on 4 different types.
You'll want to check out the Gabon Caravelle WAR video. Good aerial shots of a rare Caravelle. Plus, it has some flights on an Hs748 which are quite interesting. There's a flight to Bitam (BMM). BMM is not exactly the size of JFK or ORD!! It has one small shack for a terminal and a nice dirt runway! Quite fun to watch.
The Citybird WAR tape on a B767 shows some nice USA action, at San Fran. & L.A.

I assume your username indicates that you're a huge fan of the B747-400. Same here. Will you be behind the yoke of one of those beauties some day??

For a fan of the B747-400..........Just Planes does offer 2 Specials featuring the four-seven. You would like the tape, "Just 747-400's", which shows nothing but your favorite craft. And there's another showing '47s in the colors of just about every airline that has ever flown her.

Let me know if I can help you further. And let me know which ones you decide to get.

See ya.
