Firstly, the email address I am sending this from is the ONE and ONLY email address to contact me on. (i.e. email@example.com).
Secondly, the safetycards for which you paid where sent off to you on or very close to 4 November 2000 to:
Peter van Meerten
Leo Gestelstraat 85
1328 DC Almere
They were only sent to you in early November, because on 13 October 2000, I received an email from you advising that that would be your new address as of 1 Nov., to which I replied to you asking if you wanted me to hold off sending them to you until you were at your new address. You replied "Yes" to that.
I have since tried to contact you on firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure that the cards have arrived. My messages to that email address have been bouncing back with a 550 error (whatever the hell that is).
It is obvious that you have not received the safetycards for which you paid, and for which I have sent to you, but to say that I do not send the required materials is going too far. I can provide you with the names and emails of several people who bought cards from me on Ebay at the same time as yourself, and they can vouch that they have received the safetycards which they paid for, in a timely manner.
I am not a trickster, scam artist, or any other type of deceptive person, but Peter, you have to realise that problems with the mail do occur. I always offer the person who has bought from me on Ebay the choice to pay a few extra dollars to register the mail which I would be sending. You chose not to pay the extra AU$5-6, so it is unfortunate, but I can not be held responsible for you not receiving the mail from me.
Word of advice in future, Peter. If you value your purchases, spend that extra US$2.50 to actually get it registered. That way, both of us are covered in the event of loss.
BUT....what I am going to do is this.
It has been some time since I have sold any cards off on Ebay or via other sources, and the cards which I have available have started to increase quite dramatically.
If you email me ASAP with the cards which you bought from me off Ebay, I will see if I have any of those available. For those which I don't have available, I will offer you an alternative.
The postage for this is going to come out of my own pocket, mind you, so if this is not good enough for you, I don't know what is. And mind you, I do not have to do this Peter. In fact, if you have a problem with not receiving mail from me as a result of an Ebay purchase; I suggest you take it up with Ebay!! But I am doing this to get you the hell off my back, and from slagging my name in public!!!!!!
I will also have you know, that I missed out on a contract which was potentially worth over US$3,500 to me. Why did I miss out? Because, stupidly, I did not register the mail when I sent it. Instead I sent it normal mail and it never arrived. Somehow, I think I have more to gain (which I did) in that case, than with keeping a few safetycards.
Let this be a lesson to those people to buy off Ebay. There WILL be problems with the mail service from time to time. No matter whether you are sending a letter 2 doors down the street, or 15,000 km away. It is a fact of life, that mail will get lost from time to time. If you value your purchases on Ebay that much, for god's sake....insure the bloody thing....most regularly by sending it via registered mail.
Now Peter, the ball is back in your court. Reply to this on my private email (email@example.com).
The only thing is, I will not be able to get anything out until mid-April because I am too busy at the moment and will not be going anywhere near a post office.
