Need Info On Gemini Jets

Tue May 08, 2001 8:56 am

I am a DC-8 enthusiast and I saw some Gemini Jets DC-8s listed on ebay. I don't think I have ever seen one and would like to get some info about them before I spend my money. How big are they in inches? Do you think they are pretty accurate as far as looks go? I also saw some called Star Jets. What do you think of those?
I have not collected any die cast before so your help is much appreciated. Thanks, Karl

Gemini jets are highly detailed, right down to the nav lights on the wingtips and the ACL on the fuselage. They are destined to become collectors items. They are definitely worth the cost. They are 1:400 scale. So the DC-8-50's that GJ produces are about 5 1/2" or so in length. If you like DC-8's, and can afford t them, I recommend the Gemini's highly.

StarJets on the other hand are only 1:500 scale. While they are detailed, the detail is not as good as can be found with a gemini-due to the smaller size of the model.

I totally agree with Matt D. If you are looking for a high-quality very detailed 1:400 scale diecast model, go with Gemini. Their DC-8s ar great (I own the United version.
