How Do Virtual Airlines Work?

Thu Sep 06, 2001 10:27 am

I have never been involved in one but think I might want to give it a try.

Many of my friends play in fantasy sports leagues so am I right in assuming that's how these work?

Can some one please tell me some basic info about these or better yet, point out a site that can explain what these are and how to join.

Thanks. Hoping to join the hobby, mirrodie

VAs are diffrent than fantasy sports, as sports are basicly managing the team, while VAs actualy have you fly routes and get promoted. I guess you could say sports are competitive while VAs are not.

Some VAs are competitive, pitching members against each other to log hours (or maybe it is just kids trying to impress each other with the amount of time spent staring at the screen while their virtual 744 flies through the virtual air at a virtual 30000ft)  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

To find out a little about the VA business go to Flightsim´s Virtual Airlines section: http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/vagb/. There you can find Tutorials on flying, navigation, managing your own VA, editorial stuff AND the largest collection of links to virtual airlines, including my own High Flying Aviation

All you really want to know about VA.

Happy flying

The funny side: the VA I fly for regularly gets requests for real-life services.
These can range from people wanting to book tickets or have us ship cargo to serious takeover bids.
Guess our website looks real enough  Wink/being sarcastic
