What is the hardest airport you ever landed in FS2000? As in the trickest to land at? -Brett

Kai Tac rwy 13....it is somewhat over-rated though.....it really isint that hard, without crosswind that is. TGU is also fun, though I still havn't figured out how to fly the approach properly. A fun one is an airport in Nepal with something like 15000' of elevation.

Yeah, the IGS 13 looks much more dramatic when you are looking from an observer's point of view. from in my 744 cockpit, it's not too hard if you get over the fact that your brain tells you that you are too low over the buildings.

Athens, if you come approaching from the Southeast. You have no idea where to align to the runway, and it's hidden on another side of a mountain.

Hi,

I also find that St. Barts is very tricky. You fly a normal approach then at the end have to dive down to a short runway over a hill. The approach is written about in an issue of Airways magaazine called "Swooping into St. Barts"

There's quite a few there! Though it's not as difficult, the approach to Faroe Isles main airport (can't remember the name...). I have a friend who's a f/o with Maersk Air and as he say: The crosswinds is so strong that even though there's 13 degree offset from the approach localizer, you can point the aircraft in the runway heading and let the wind push your aircraft along the approach... Enjoy flying sideways!

Hi all.. The STAR for Kai Tak IGS was not turning the 47 degress from the Southeast.. Instead, it should be flying like that.. Firstly.. Fly direct to CH VOR.. then turn right heading maybe 360 degress.. until you fly over the new Hong Kong airport.. then turn right to intercept the localizer.. After that.. follow the guide slope and the Localizer (heading 088).. until you see the airport.. then you should close the A/P and do a visual approach.. It may be quite hard to do that in FS as it's time consuming when you turn the view to right and then turn back to your control panel.. I think it would be easier to do in a real jet or in the sim of airlines..

Kai Tak is not that difficult, its just the PAR over the buildings seems very low. But having done it many times in FS2K and in a real Full Mostion Simulator at British Airways Pilot Trainaing i didn't find it that difficult. I landed 3 times with no problems at all in a BA B747-436. There are alot more challenging airports around the world.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
