Overspeed At 310 Knots?

Sun Oct 28, 2001 6:39 am

I'm was flying the 747-400 in FS2002 at 38,000ft. I hit 310knots and it said overspeeding.

Also where is the dialog for the autopilot? I remember in FS2000 I could click on Aircraft then Autopilot, but its not there!

How do I bring up the autopilot dialog?

Regards.

Its not the kts speed you should be looking at, its the Mach number. If you are crusing between 0.80-86 then this is perfectley normal for Large jet.
As far as finding the autopilto in FS2K goes just press ALT and you should get the menus then click on the second from left and in that list should be autopilot.
Hope this helps.

Yes exactly. Sometimes overspeed can be a mere 180 kts depending on your altitude. It's all in the mach number.

I'm talking about FS2K2, there is no Autopilot dialog.

Hmmmmm.....well you might have to learn to use the autopilot on the control panel. It makes it more realistic anyway.  Big thumbs up

310 knots at 38,000ft is definately too fast! If you are going at 310 knots at 35,000 feet or so it might be ok. You should look at the mach number, the higer you go, airspeed will drop but you will be flying as fast.
