Dimension For 1:500 Model Airport

Sun Nov 11, 2001 11:53 am

Hi everybody! Big grin

On Monday Im going to a lumber store to buy a wood base for the scale 1:500 airport that im going to be making. My airport is going to have one runway and it will be based on the Kai Tak design. I was wondering if anyone knew what length and width of wood I should get. I dont want to get it wrong.  Smile

Thanks for any help Big grin

The runway length for HONG KONG KAI TAK is: Length 10,930 feet.
So a piece of wood for your airport should be about 25 feet long :P

(According to my calculations- 10930 ÷ 500 = 21.86)

You will have to find out the width from somewhere else...

Maybe I am completely out, I don't know, but i did my best  Smile

Goodbye
