Problems W/Flight Sim 2002

Sat Dec 01, 2001 11:26 pm

The new version does not run properly on my machine. When I go into Spot Plane View, half of the aircraft is cut off. I've never experienced anything like this and can't find any fixes. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I'm running it on a 300 mgz, 256 k machine with a 32MB 3D Diamond Stealth graphics card. I appreciate your help.

Your computer barely fits the requirements for FS2002 with its 300mhz processing speed and its 32MB graphics card. Perhaps if you could find or get a computer with at least 500mhz processing speed(like mine) and a 64 MB nvidia graphics card, then you will run FS2K2 very smoothly.

Same thing as the other post I replied, a lot of people seem to have this problem.

That problem does not depend on the power you have on your computer, you could have this problem with a 2 ghz, 512 MB SDRAM, Geforce 3 machine. It's simply the drivers that need to be updated.

I'm sure that you can run FS2k2 with the computer you have, mine has less power than yours and it runs like a dream.

I also had the same problem since I bought FS2k2 and someone yesterday told me how to get rid of it.

All you have to do is download the latest drivers for your video card and its about 99% sure that FS2k2 will run ok. Just uninstall FS2k2, install the new drivers and reinstall FS2k2, the problem will be gone and you'll get better frame rates.

It also resolves the airplane textures problem and it'll get you rid of the multicolor squares on the planes.

Tell me if it works

Thank you both. I will try that, Crank, and let you know how it works out. I had a feeling it was a driver problem because it doesn't seem to be running slowly, just improperly. Thanks again,

Bookmark http://www.guru3d.com/ site for video drivers. I also suggest that, once you find stable driver, do not update it as often.

I have Nvidia DDR on Windows XP; it took me a month to find stable version (15.somthing). Until then OS used to crush in 2 of 3 boot ups. After the v15 update, I haven't had any problems. As long as it is working, I'm not going to fix it anymore.

Thanks for your help - the problem is fixed and it runs great. I updated the driver on the diamond web site, www.diamondmm.com. Thanks again, and happy flying!
