I am making Airline board game myself (with computer), it will be something like Monopoly but different. You and other players would have 1 base city (Vilnius in my case) and would have to buy rights to fly to other cities. Other cities would be listed on tiles like streets in Monopoly. Each country has two or three cities (like color in Monopoly). Of course, if someone has monopoly to flights to one country, he will get better profits. Each city has not only size (the profit), but also range. You would have to buy planes (Boeing, Airbus and other aircraft factories will be at three corners of board, in places of Jail, Go to Jail and free parking) and launch them on routes. When you cross start (Go in Monopoly and Fly in this game), you wouldn't get 200, instead, you would get profit for your flights (you would get a few profits despite of did other players flown your flights). You could improve your flights to other cities by buying different things there (instead of homes): your own desk at airport, bus shuttles to city, hotel, restricted terminal and commuter airline in that country. If opponent stops on your city, he has to charter your flight. The cost depends on various things, like your service at airport you're flying to, city's quality. Instead of chances and community chest there would be news and suggestions. News would say something good or bad, while suggestions would suggest you to do various risky things, which you may refuse (like open illegal route to Baghdad to transport uran to Saddam), but if you agree, you will get much money OR various sanctions (if FAA wil understand that you are transporting uran to Hussein, you might be banned from all western airports for some turns) and loss.
