Need Help With FS98 (Yes, I Said 98)

Wed Mar 06, 2002 5:17 am

Just downloaded a file containing a DC-3 to be used on FS98, but i have a tiny problem:

What on earth do I do with this file?

As soon as you've finished laughing, try to help me.  Smile

If it is Roy Chaffin and Jan Visser's work, read the manual. Read it carefully as it contains full installation instructions.
Then go to http://www.roychaffin.com (irrespective of which it is), click to the Flightsim site, and order the CD version because it is a lot easier to install and you are supporting a good cause (getting a real DC3 back in the air). Theirs is simply the best DC3 there is. The CD contains versions for FS98, FS2000, FS2002, CFS1 and CFS2 plus a wealth in reference material (including scans of original RAF and USAAF pilot manuals).

Lindy,  Insane

I downloaded the thing from a private flight sim website. It's a zip file, so I know I have to unzip it. But do I put it in a FS folder or something?

Thanks for the link there Jwenting, but I'm not going to buy any cds.  Smile

Have you unzipped the folder and put it into your FS98 aircraft folder?

Thomas. I dont know much about FS98 ( I had it only for 3 or so days) but I can tell you that you have to use converter to put aircraft into your Flight Simulator.
You can download that tool on www.flightsim.com

BTW. FS98 suck big time. FS 95 is much better with better graphics.

I know FS98 is awefull, but it's all I have.  Smile

I was unable to find my way around the website, so...  Smile

I'll unzip the file and put it in aircrafts folder. But how do I use the aircraft in the game? Does it show up along with the other aircrafts? Will it handle like the original aircrafts (i.e it has the cockpit of the Lear45.)?

So many questions, so little knowledge.  Smile

I'll check it out. I made a few downloads work. Most come with instructions.  Smile

Where in norway are you staying? Doesn't really matter, I'm sure you'll enjoy it anyway.  Smile

Thanks for the help.  Big thumbs up

Trysil is nice, or so I hear. Never been there before, but some day I may take a trip there myself. Are you sailing with Color Line?

Tror jeg setter deg på min respekterte bruker liste.  Smile

Hehe. I see.  Smile

Ehhh, got a little problem with the downloads. Several of the "small" downloaded aircrafts (100kb or less) won't work.

Is there a limit to how many aircrafts you can add to FS98?
