How To Make A Splash Screen For FS2002?

Sat Mar 09, 2002 4:18 am

Does anybody know how to make your own splash screen for FS2002? I have noticed the FS download sites are receiving a lot of those screens and I am very curious how to make them yourself. I have a good drawing program so it shouldn't be a problem to create something nice.

Thanks in advance.

There is a program someone made to change the splashscreen, but you can just as easily do it yourself.

In the fs202/UIRES folder, replace the file dlgsplash.bmp with another bmp file. This file should be exactly 800x600 pixels, and 256 colours.

DreamFleet released a free program called the Splash Screen Randomizer (SSR).

What it does is it includes 10 different splash screens, and everytime you launch FS2002 from it, it will randomly display a splash screen. You can insert your own splash screens for it to use aswell. The more splash screens you have, the less frequent you will get the same splash screen.

You can download it here: http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/Downloads/SSR.html

It also comes with a template compatible with Adobe Photo Shop and Jasc Paint Shop Pro to make your own splash screens.
