Hardest Airport To Take Off From In FS2002

Fri Mar 22, 2002 12:29 am

I was bored and I tried to do some touch and goes in the C172 in the one airport that is listed in the country of Bhutan. All I have to say is that it is litterally impossible to fly the C172, or the C182 from that airport, let alone do a touch and go. Anyone else have any airports like that that I should check out?

Wow, youre right, thats almost impossible...I barely got out of there in the extra. I tried the lear even though you told me not to and I went right into the side.

Try Lukla or Quito, especially Lukla.
Quito is long but very high, Lukla is also high (slope of Everest) but adds a short narrow grass runway.
I wish I were flying

I have tried the airport in Bhutan. There is an airline based at that airport called Druk Air, and they operate BAe146s out of there. I think they have a fleet of 2, and are expanding soon. They fly to bankok and a few places in india, but im not sure.

Its a very interesting country, with a great airport.

Hi,
try 'Puff Airpark'
But, watch out for the tree at the end of the grass strip!

I'm surprised you couldn't get a jet out of Rio Amazonas. You know how you do it? You takeoff, take a sharp turn right and climb at a rate of about 2500 feet per minute. You keep ascending as you flying in circles, then eventually you'll be high enough to leave the volcano.

I managed to take off today from Rio Amazonas in a swiss erj-145. That took some work. I had to empty out the plane to do it.

I carried out a cliffhanger –style takeoff from Rio Amazonas and thanks to the performances of the Extra I made it out of the volcanoe. What a fancy place to locate an airport at indeed ! Are there any recognizable advantages to build an airport upon the ground of a volcanic cone ?

For an interesting landing, Katmandu airport is fun with a B737.
