VOR And GPS

Tue Apr 02, 2002 2:00 am

Why is it necessary to engage the GPS when flying VOR in FS2002? How about in real life?

It isn't necessary...
When you file a flightplan it is automatically loaded into the GPS which serves as a flight computer in FS, but it is your choice to use it or not. Myself, I often use it only as a moving map display.
And you can always fly without a flightplan of course.
I wish I were flying
