JetBlue Geminis: A Bust?

Fri Apr 05, 2002 8:21 am

So where did all the enthusiasm for the Gemini Jets A320's go?

Talk about an anticlimactic non-event.

Considering the anticipation, delays for their availability, and small number supposedly built, they sure seem to be too easy to get. They are still available on Jetbluetique. Also, as I predicted, they are all over Ebay. Only thing is that no one is buying them.

So what happened?

There are a few reasons for the anti-climactic arrival.
#1
They went on sale in mid January. All 3000 were sold out in about 48 hours.

The first 300 (100 each) shiped in the last week of Jan.

The rest were going to ship on March 4th. but then were shiping on the 18th.

From what I understand the jetBlue shop sent no notice that orders were shiping they just showed up at your house.

The reason that there not selling on E-bay is because.

The "seller" bought it for $22.00 plus 4.00 tax and shiping.

He then has to make a profit, so say a $5.00 markup then 5.00 bucks for shiping. (because it's so heavy  Pissed )
So what cost him $26.00 is now going to cost you $36.00 dollars and around $108.00 if you can't find a good deal on a 3 pack.

The reason that you can find a few at shopBlue is that.
(The guy from shopBlue told me this)

Some people placed orders for "30" of each!
jetBlue was not happy with the idea of "jetBlue products" being re-sold for a profit.

So all sales (after the first 300) were reprocessed so that all orders were caped at no more than 3 each or no more than 9 planes.

All the planes from the "droped" orders were put up on the shopBlue site.
The reason that I think the planes are still there is that no one knows that planes are on the site.

The last thing is that everybody now has a incomplete set. Now that jetBlue has a new 4th tail

From what I have been told. There will not be a 4th Gemini made for this. Hopefuly someone will change there mind.

I'll be putting up a review up on my site of these 3 pretty ladys in the next few days.

No there are only 1000 each. 3000 total.

The review is starting to to look good. I just recived the rights to use some photos from 3 diffrent A.net Photographers. It should be up by mid-week.

Pronto, Try calling the jetBlue shop the number is 1-866-258-3847

I can't believe that out of 1000 each, and after the collectors, and presumably the employees have taken the first round, that there are still models left available.
