FS2K2 "Easter Eggs".

Thu Jun 13, 2002 3:24 am

Hi guys,

I was thinking about puting up a page that lists all special/hidden things in FS2002 (aka Easter eggs)

Here are some of the things I have seen

USS JFK in Pearl Harbor.
USS Enterprise outside of San Fancicso bay.
A Coast Guard 210 of the coast of Key Largo FL
Boats in small harbors and coves.
Lots of weather ballones
Airlines flying out of airforce bases.

I'm going to poke around and look for other stuff.

I love how MS FS2K2 puts in all the cities' respective baseball fields. Boston has Fenway, Chicago has Comisky and Wrigley, Atlanta has Turner Field. I love that.

None of those are really special or hidden, well the ships and balloons, those have been around for a few FS releases already.

But i did read a while ago in the Flightsim forums about hidden things in FS, like have you seen what Microsoft's headquarters look like (well i haven't but it's supposed to be good). You can also see the first powered flight at Kitty Hawk by the Wright brothers, if you set the date back to 1909 and go to the right place (i actually saw a screen shot of this).

Also there's lots of places that have fireworks at certain times, and in FS98 you could actually see the olympic flame in Atlanta at the 96 olympics. So stuff like that is what you might wanna look for, you never know you might even catch a space shuttle launch if you're lucky.

.... and if you wanna see more ships, take a flight through the Panama Canal, it's littered with cruise ships and things.... well it was in FS2000.

I had a post about this a while ago with Flight Simulator 2000. I remember if you set the date back to the right time the Berlin Wall will show up. Search for the topic "FlightSim Scenery Secrets"

What I meant to say was that the all the baseball fields are in FS2k2, and in very good detail. You can even see the "green monster" at fenway park.

The only things I have seen that are out of the ordinary are the 'Northern Lights' and a shooting star.

Sharpnfuzzy, the ships are in the canal in this version too  Big thumbs up

I set the date back to the erruption of a volcano, which is documented to work, but it didn't.

Yeah, I'm waiting for a flying saucer to appear out the windows, or the Captain to start singing something...or some kind of comment about a flight attendant! (Not to sound sexist) That would be a hoot!

I really hoped that when I set the date back to September 10th, 2001 the twin towers would appear. But they did not  Sad

Las Vegas now has all the hotels by default. The Luxor has the light beam out the top and the belagio has the dancing waters. Im sure the volcano at one of the hotels is there too....
