Display Feat. That Are V. Card/processor Dependent

Tue Jun 25, 2002 3:45 am

Could anyone provide some input on which display features are more proceessor dependent and which are more graphics card dependent. I'm trying to find that right combination to get 24fps or whatever is considered "smooth". The reason I ask is because I have a lower processor speed compared with todays' standards (PII 400MHz) but I have a solid video card (64MB GeForce 2 Ti). Thanks for the comments.

My system:
PII 400MHz
64 GeForce 2 Ti

If you want loads of AI Traffic, Scenery, you need to upgrade your processor more than anything. And this comparison is based on my two machines, an AMD Duron 700MHZ, and an AMD XP1900+. Framerates jumped significantly (15 to 60) using the same vid card and ram.

You really can't do much with a 400Mhz CPU, and to get 24FPS you'd have to turn most everything to a minimum.
