SCreenshots: Sabena 737 OO-SYB Ebos Training

Fri Oct 11, 2002 11:34 pm

Hi,

After spending sometime not flying with FS2002 due to a lack of spare time, today I finally had the opportunity to fly again.

I decided to do some circuits at Ostend airport (OST/EBOS), situated in Belgium, near the Belgian coast (Northsea). The aircraft I used for this flight was a Sabena 737, OO-SYB a repaint of the FS2002 model).

I only made 2 short circuits, one with a fully manual ILS approach to RWY 26 and (after touch-and-go) one where I used the APR mode to line up with the ILS signals. This was the only time I used the autopilot. Once I was fully lined up and the aircraft was stable, I shut the autopilot off. The weather was good (visibility 64km, shattered clouds, and no wind).

Here are the screenshots. Hope you like them:

1. Flying crosswind leg at about 2000ft:

2. Cockpit view when flying downwind leg (abeam of ONO NDB):

3. On short finals for RWY 26:

4. Cockpit view when approaching RWY 26 (fully manual ILS approach):

5. Moments before touchdown on RWY 26:

6. Flying over the beginning of the runway:

7. Look at that smoke! Touchdown:

8. Touchdown from another angle:

9. Rolling out with spoilers up and thrust reversers activated:

Thanks! wow, you noticed this new thread really fast. You wouldn't have some sort of software program that searches through all of Airliners.net for 'Sabena'?  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Miss'em too...but still keeping'em alive!

Turbotrent:

Thanks for the compliments. By the way, are you having some sort of trouble with FS2002? something you don't fully understand? Just ask me, and I'll try to help you!

About LHR: I'm sure you will  Smile/happy/getting dizzy By the way, I'm thinking of preparing 2 brief letters for both flight crews, to invite me to the cockpit. If you'd like I'll put your name on it as well. I mean, we do want to visit the cockpit, don't we?

I'll give it a try for the evening BRU landing or the early morning LHR landing. I'd love to have a jumpseat on those occasions...

Here are two more that I made a couple of minutes ago, when flying BRU-LHR by night (I really wonder why I decided to fly that particular route, huh Turbotrent Big grin ).

Just after takeoff from BRU RWY 25R, flying the COA 3D SID (Brussels in the background):

Hey Ivan,

Great night shots! I wish we could fly with the same operator as in the shots to LHR  Crying

Indeed, a very good idea to prepare 2 letters for the crew. It would be very nice if you could put my name also in the letter. Thanks in advance.

I mean, we do want to visit the cockpit, don't we?

I assume that was a rhetorical question  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I am really looking forward to our trip to LHR. Btw, I have already mailed several times to that shop on the terrace, but I don't get a response. But I'll keep trying!

Best regards,

Tom

Hi Ivan and Tom!!

wow, you noticed this new thread really fast. You wouldn't have some sort of software program that searches through all of Airliners.net for 'Sabena'?  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

ROFLMAO  Big thumbs up  Big thumbs up

I indeed do a Sabena search from time to time to be sure that I don't miss a Sabena thread  Big grin And maybe my Sabena instinct helps me to find the Sabena threads here on a.net  Big grin

Frederic
