FS2002 Aircraft Overstressed On Descent?

Sun Dec 01, 2002 9:13 pm

I'm trying out an ATR72 I downloaded from Flightsim.com and during the descent the aircraft overstressed. That was rather disappointing for me. I made sure my speed was around 250 or so. Is the dynamics file a bit sensitive?

What was your vertical speed? What was the G-load on the airframe?

Overstressing the airframe is not (just) a factor of IAS, but also of G-load, vertical speed, wind (turbulence especially), etc.

Try it again under controlled conditions and see where the limits are. Then consider whether those are realistic or not.
Then try the same with the default aircraft and see if it is something specific to the model or generic.

Or just turn off the overstress damage option and have a ball  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I knew I had a slight dip to 2000fpm about twice or so because I got distracted. I corrected it though and maintained my descent. Maybe it was from those dips. The weather was standard, clear skies, etc. Maybe I should just fly when I know I can have absolute concentration  Smile/happy/getting dizzy .

I have also had exactly the same problems with the ATR72. Even though it makes it less realistic, I just turned the 'Overstressed' settings off.
