The MD83 is an only an AI aircraft within MS2K2. With the default installation you cannot fly it yourself. Doing a search for "MD 83 flyable" in http://Avsim.com's file library should sort you out. It should return one file for you to download.

Be sure to check the readme first - the patch includes other tweaks you should be aware of.

You don't unlock AI planes just like you do to arcade car games Big grin

There are websites that let you download tons of free aircraft and panels for you to install
- http://www.flightsim.com
- ...and TONS more, if you use the search engines to search!

You can download a fix to make them flyable in FS2k2. I've tried it, and personally, I really don't think it's worth it. There are so many good add-on planes out there.

One thing I forgot to mention: I ended up just deleting my MD-83s from my aircraft folder--I've installed a lot of ProjectAI stuff, and the default AI traffic tends to wreak havoc by not getting off the runway fast enough. And there are plenty of very good airplanes flying around my simulator world.

(Word to the wise--ProjectAI's Southwest Airlines programs has some issues. The airplanes look good, but I had some trouble with it)

Just use aircraft editor. It's fairly easy, just pick the MD-80 of your choice, save it, and go fly it!
